  1. Hiya!

Aww I hope you found some Samoan friends at uni!!

We’d like to nominate your blog for this pay-it-forward type award thing called the Liebster Award. We have to ask if that’s okay first haha. Have a google and see if you’d be keen.

It’s for blogs that have less than 200 followers. We were tagged and so are choosing our list and hope to include your blog too.

  2. Hello 🙂 I stumbled across your blog, and I was wondering if you knew anywhere in Melbourne to get Samoan food? I’m an afakasi from Auckland NZ and I’ve had no real luck with anything here.. thanks!

    1. gosh Cheree, I am so sorry for the late ass reply! There are some great shops in Melbourne – if you’re in northside go to: KiwiPacificStore Jacana 16-18 Emu Parade, Jacana VIC 3047. If you’re in westside go to KiwiPacificStore LAverton 6/110-116 Fitzgerald Rd, Laverton North VIC 3026..out south is Pacific Eats 1035 Cranbourne-Frankston Rd, Cranbourne West VIC 3977 – I dont know of any stores out East (not many islanders out there lol). Hope this helps!

  3. Hi Rita
    Great blog!

I loved reading your story about becoming a Samoan ethnomusicologist (how cool is that!) and your experiences of being a faipese mum. I’ve been a faipese myself, following in my dad’s footsteps (although not entirely by choice) and now being married to the best faipese I know (totally not biased lol). I would love for my husband to read your blog, if only to inspire him to pursue the career in music he’s always dreamed of.

    1. Hi Alofa! Hey thanks so much for the lovely message and how cool to meet a fellow faipese who learned from her dad – we’re twins!!! LOL (you can be the sane one haha). It’s such a blessed and stressful vocation in life isn’t it? I guess this is reminder that I need to blog today….thanks for the comment darl x Manuia

    2. Thanks for the comment Alofa! Great to hear you are surrounded by music even in adulthood lol..we can never really escape when we are raised by faipese a ea..Im hoping hubby gets the chance to pursue his musical dream in future..keep striving! x
